Difference

Cloud computing is supposed to be the use of remote servers which is hosted on the internet to store or manage data. This data will be from the server or computer. And, grid computing is a distributed architecture of where many computers are connected to resolve any given problem. When it is used, all servers or PC are linked over a common network using WAN and independent tasks are assigned to each system.

Types

After its evolution, Cloud Computing Trends has been divided into following types such as public, private, community and hybrid clouds. While Grid computing has the following types such as distributed computing, information and pervasive.

Goals

The main focus of cloud computing is reducing costs and increase returns. Also, it has a goal of enhancing scalability with increased reliability and availability. And, the main goal of Grid Computing focuses on network and the network has a large scale. It focuses on resource sharing, pervasive and reliable access to data, storage, capacity, and computation power. Hence, it focuses on delivering a computer as a utility.

Benefits of Cloud Computing

  • It can store huge amount of storing data safely. Data stored in the cloud is highly secure and it will be accessed whenever needed
  • Cloud is easily accessible from any part of the world
  • It runs on the latest network and all data centers being secure enhance that it provides the best performance.
  • Cost-efficient and has fast backup data restoration

Benefits of Grid Computing

  • It is useful in dealing with idle energy in computers
  • The Grid helps in distributing and splitting up the work into multiple channels
  • Space is saved and access to additional resources that are made possible
